BEHAVIOUR
Good attitude and behaviour is an expectation at Rainhill High School. We ask that students do the following:

To arrive to school and all lessons every day on time.
To achieve a minimum of 96% attendance.
To be in full school uniform at all times (including year badge).
To be fully prepared for school each day in respect of equipment (Key to Success file, pen, pencil, ruler, calculator).
To be ambitious and work to the best of your abilities.
To behave and work in a way where everyone is respectful to each other.
To follow all staff instructions first time given.
Be polite – no swearing, hold doors for others, no racist, derogatory or homophobic language.
If a student is unable to adhere to the behaviour and attitude expectations, consequences for their actions will be put in place.

Preventing own learning
• Lack of equipment
• Low level disruption
• Failure to follow instructions
• Lack of effort/completion
• Damage to property/interiors • Eating/drinking in lessons
No sanction issued but dealt with by teacher and recorded on ClassCharts.
Preventing the learning of others or:
• Lack of equipment
• Late to lesson
• No homework
• Inappropriate comments
• Leaving lesson without permission • Defiance
• Poor behaviour during unstructured time
Maximum 15 minute class teacher detention.
Callout or one-off incidents:
• Truancy
• Damage to property
• Aggressive behaviour to staff/
pupil
• Bullying – including name
calling/mimicking/mocking
• Misuse of IT
Minimum 30 minute detention.
One off incidents:
• Verbal abuse of staff/pupil
• Assault
• Bullying – racist/homophobic/
transphobic/religious
• Possession of banned items/
substances
• Persistent defiance
Either:
• 60 minute detention
• Internal exclusion placement
• Fixed term exclusion
