In The Line of Fire 1970 - 1980
Main Fire Hall Station 1 - 2255 Enterprise Way
Opening in 1977, the new fire hall had 6 men - 2 officers and 4 Fire Fighters for its regular 24-hour shifts.
All personnel were able to use the facilities, which included a meeting room with kitchen facilities.
An area was provided for recreation, exercise and a 10-bed dormitory for enough lockers for all staff.
An office for Volunteers, an area to study and a guest room for out-of-town fire personnel were available.
The truck bay contained space for ambulances, search & rescue vehicles, pumper and aerial ladder trucks.
The administration area had reception, offices for training & fire prevention officers, and the chiefs.
The communications room was the heart of the operation...electronic panel system
and an eight track recorder for the emergency messages.
