This is the trading company of the Group’s leisure portfolio which features the 4 star Ten Square Hotel situated adjacent to Belfast City Hall and the Kingfisher Country Estate in Templepatrick. Loughview Leisure has a total of 396 bedrooms across 4 hotels and a market leading children’s activity and sports centre.
The Northern Ireland Hotel Market has experienced substantial growth in recent years with an additional 1,000 rooms having been added in the City since January 2018 bringing the total to 9,000 rooms. Over the last decade, the number of overnight trips to Belfast has doubled to almost 1.5 million and associated expenditure has increased by 120 per cent. Belfast dominates Northern Ireland's tourism industry with one in three trips taken having an overnight stay in the city.
It is now amongst the UK’s top-three major cities as measured by the average room rate and has recorded room occupancy rates of over 80% for four consecutive years. This upward trend is expected to continue as the additional investment and development in the city’s conference appeal and the country’s tourism facilities will undoubtedly attract further tourists and business stays.
