KINGFISHER COUNTRY ESTATE - TEMPLEPATRICK
Loughview Leisure Group completed the acquisition of the Hilton Belfast Templepatrick Hotel in August 2021. The hotel holds the enviable location of being only 2 minutes drive from Junction 5 of the M2 Motorway putting it within 15 minutes of the major airports and ferry terminals and less than an hour from the prestigious Golf Courses at Portstewart, Portrush and Royal County Down. Loughview have already commenced an extensive refurbishment and development
programme of the hotel and parkland estate which upon completion will set the bar for International Golf and Leisure Tourism in Northern Ireland.
Phase 1 of the development programme will see the parkland estate and Golf Course sitting on circa 200 acres transformed into the “Kingfisher Country Estate” and Loughview have engaged Mr David Jones of www.davidjonesgolf.com the original designeroftheGolfCourse,whohascarriedoutanin-depthappraisalofthecourse. TheworkstodeliverDavid’svision for sympathetic and dramatic improvements to the course have commenced and will be completed over the next two golfing seasons with the aim of the golf course being ranked in the Top 5 Parkland Courses in Ireland. Alongside the Golf Course development, the existing hotel is being refurbished and repositioned as a DoubleTree by Hilton, one of the more
luxuriousbrandsintheHiltonfamily. Therefurbishmentwillseetheexisting130bedrooms,bar,restaurant,ballroom, 8 conference rooms, health club and swimming pool fully transformed and modernised, with the addition of the Dormy House Golf Bar and Restaurant.
Phase 2 (subject to planning) will see the addition of a new 60 suite hotel extension offering additional function space, a luxury rooftop spa, Log Cabins and Shepherds Huts and the provision of enhanced outdoor activities. Loughview propose to build 44 apartments with Golf Course views and 44 Detached Golf Lodges offering residents of the Kingfisher Country Estate and hotel the ideal location to live, relax and play.
