Susan Vardy (Director/Choreographer) is thrilled to return as

director and choreographer for what has become her favorite
annual activity: the TMS spring show! Bye Bye Birdie is Ms.
Vardy's fourth show with TMS, having previously directed/
choreographed Willy Wonka (2019), The Wizard of Oz (2018), and Charlotte's

Web (2017). Outside of school settings, Ms. Vardy's professional theatrical
experience spans from performing center stage to directing and producing. As
a performer, Ms. Vardy performed extensively in musical theatre with princi-
pal roles in international, regional, NYC shows such as Hello, Dolly! (Paris;
Houston w/Joanne Worley), Fiddler on the Roof (w/Theodore Bikel), Slay it
with Music (w/Barry Williams), Gypsy (w/Beth Fowler), 1776, Into the Woods,

Baby, and more. She has been seen on TV in shows including The Cosby
Show and Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood, as well as onstage at NYC cabaret ven-
ues, where she can still be found on random nights, usually belting out show
tunes. Right here in our neighborhood, Ms. Vardy has directed, produced, and
performed at the Kaplen JCC as part of the Palisades Players. A Carnegie

Mellon musical theatre and acting grad, Ms. Vardy is well-versed in all aspects
of theatre production, and loves working with youth to help develop their po-
tential onstage. Ms. Vardy is currently collaborating with Nancy Ringham
Smith in the development of a new Tenafly-based theatre company: RiverWest
Music Theatre ( www.RiverWestMusicTheatre.com ), which mounted its first
production ("The Fantasticks") this past summer.
