MANAGING DIRECTOR,

National Ploughing Championships

Given the success of last year’s event and the record numbers
attending, it is with great pleasure that I welcome you to my
home county of Laois again this year. As I take pen to paper,
we are only days away from the 83rd National Ploughing
championships.

The Championships, with over1400 exhibitors, is no longer an
affair solely for ploughing and machinery enthusiasts. It has
continued to grow and cater for all aspects of Irish life and
features many exhibits and events to suit all members of the
family. On a personal note, I am very excited this year regarding
the return of the National Brown Bread baking competition after
a 23 year break. With the semi-finals and final taking place over
the three days, make sure to schedule a visit to the Aldi marquee
and witness some of Ireland’s finest baker’s battle it out for the
coveted title.
