TATE BRITAIN SMALLEST TOUR EVER
‘Ophelia’, Sir John Everett Millais,1851-2.
Here, Millais depicts, with great intensity and incredible detail, the feeling of finishing five seasons of a series in one day.
‘Three Studies for Figures at the Base of a Crucifixion’, Francis Bacon, 1944
These paintings were based on the Eumenides of Aeschylus’s Oresteia, but also represent my three moods on this 4th week of Quarantine. On the left, there’s Tisiphone (avenger of murder), Megaera (the jealous) in the middle, and Alecto (constant anger) on the right. Enjoy.
