S.E.T. Program for Teachers
This program is designed to incorporate the following Social Emotional Learning Standards
into your curriculum. The teaching instructions and answer keys are presented first, and
the accompanying lessons for students follow. The workbook begins with a message to the
students about what they will learn.
Overview of Goals & Learning Standards alignment with lessons
Social Emotional Goal 1:
Develop self-awareness and self-management skills to achieve school
and life success (lessons 1, 2, 3, and 10).
Learning Standards A: Identify and manage one’s emotions and behaviors.
Learning Standards B: Recognize personal qualities and external supports.
Learning Standards C: Demonstrate skills related to achieving personal and academic goals.
Social Emotional Goal 2:
Use social-awareness and interpersonal skills to establish and maintain
positive relationships (lessons 4, 4.1, 5, and 5.1)
Learning Standard A: Recognize the feelings and perspectives of others.
Learning Standard B: Recognize individual and group similarities and dierences.
Learning Standard C: Use communication and social skills to interact eectively with others.
Learning Standard D: Demonstrate an ability to prevent, manage and resolve interpersonal
conflicts in constructive ways.
Social Emotional Goal 3:
Demonstrate decision making skills and responsible behaviors in personal,
school and community contexts (lessons 6, 7, 8, and 9).
Learning Standard A: Consider ethical, safety, and societal factors in making decisions.
Learning Standard B: Apply decision-making skills to deal responsibly with daily academic
and social situations.
Learning Standard C: Contribute to the well-being of one’s school and community.
