Dear Chicago:

Everett Rand, Tim Rand and Larry Huggins had a vision. It was our dream to bring Historical Black College &
University (HBCU) Football to Chicago to expose our youth to an experience unlike any other. When we founded
the Chicago Football Classic Scholarship Fund in 1997, we had a simple vision: to bring HBCU Football to
Chicago and play at Soldier Field, at a price that the entire family could afford.

This was our dream. In order to make our dream a reality, we had to have help. Chicago, join us in thanking
former Mayor Richard M. Daley, Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle and posthumously Michael
Scott Sr. for their willingness to work to make our dream Chicago’s reality.

With their support Chicago, here we are, 25 Chicago Football Classics later, we welcome Central State University
and Mississippi Valley State University to play in the Chicago Football Classic game. This year, Chicago hosts
HBCU Alumni, corporate partners, community organizations, and most importantly, students to Soldier Field to
introduce the excellence that are Historically Black Colleges and Universities.

We are truly humbled and excited to have achieved this goal for twenty-five years! We want to share our thanks
in this open letter to the City of Chicago, all of our sponsors, and supporters. The Chicago Football Classic
Scholarship Fund, Inc. strives to keep our word and vigilantly works to raise scholarship dollars so that more
college-bound students from Chicago would not only be encouraged to graduate from high school, but continue
their education at a HBCU. Over these 25 years, Chicago, with your philanthropic support, we have have been able
to provide over $5 Million in scholarships to deserving students to attend and graduate from Historically Black
College and Universities.

Many of you have been with us since the very beginning and through many years we have built many
partnerships with you that share our same vision. Whether you are a new or old friend of the Chicago Football
Classic Scholarship Fund, Inc., we know it is because of your passion, dedication to the community and your
philanthropic spirit, the Chicago Football Classic Scholarship Fund, Inc. is able to inspire high school and college
students to achieve educational excellence through support for programs, initiatives and events that increases
awareness of opportunities.

Chicago, you truly are the city of “big shoulders”, and we say “THANK YOU” for allowing the Chicago Football
Classic Scholarship Fund, Inc. to be the recipient of your generosity commitment and dedication to the education
of our youth.
