              A MESSAGE FROM

              THE CHAIR

                                                      DEAR COMMUNITY AND MEMBERS:

This year, Delta Education and Life Development Foundation,
Inc. celebrates 35 years of service to this community. It is with
sincere gratitude and appreciation that I salute our members,
sponsors, donors, partners and the community for your
continued support. This biennium has been plagued with the
unprecedented existence of the COVID 19 pandemic. However,
through it all, we have had a phenomenal two years of
                                                      community outreach and fundraising efforts.

                                                      DELDF is a non-pr0fit 501 ( c) 3 tax exempt public service and
community corporation whose purpose is to improve the
quality of life of the Broward County Florida community
through education, cultural enrichment and social well-being.
The mission of DELDF is to secure funding to support the
valuable program initiatives and scholarship fund of the
Broward County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta
Sorority, Inc. and other partnering organizations.

Over the past two years, the Foundation has been severely impacted by the pandemic. Being prohibited from
meeting and gathering in person, we have had to pivot and move into the virtual world. During this time, we have
reached new levels of innovation and creativity. Moreover, we have not been deterred from continuing our quest
to provide impactful and significant programs. Our mentoring programs have continued in the virtual format
with the goal of mentoring and empowering the youth to succeed. During this period, the May Week program was
expanded to include a series of college readiness workshops and a virtual interactive college fair. In this
biennium, the Foundation has awarded 84 students $153.050.00. This year alone, due to the phenomenal success
of our fundraising efforts, a record $100,000.00 in scholarships were awarded to deserving graduating students to
pursue their education. All of this would not have been possible without the tremendous efforts of our members
and the overwhelming support from our donors, sponsors and the community.

As we move forward during these challenging times, we do so with enthusiasm and great expectation of what the
future will bring. It is our hope that you would continue to support us financially, as well as volunteer and
participate in upcoming programs. Thank you again and let’s continue to work together to create a better
community. It takes all of us working together to “Make the Difference”.

            Warmest Regards,

            D e e t r a D u r h a m
