SHRI RAJASTHANI JAIN SAMAJ (Mambalam)
                                        ITS ORIGIN & ACTIVITIES

                     Shri  Rajasthani  Jain  Samaj  was  founded  in  the  year  1967.  Durung  that  period
               Madras City had experienced heavy rain, resulting in floods and evacuation of hutments in
               many parts of the city for many days. The Samaj extended its helping hand by providing food
               and shelter to the needy and commenced its good beginning. There upon the Samaj decided
               to work for the people of Tamil Nadu. [Shri Bhagchand Galada and Shri Shri Shankarlal Jain,
               came forward to take the initiative and formed the ‘Shri Rajasthani Jain Samaj’.]
                     Shri Bhagchand Galada was the founder President and Shri Shankarlal Jain was
               made the founder Secretary of the Samaj. With full co-operation of the Jain community settled
               in Tamil Nadu several decades ago, the Samaj is engaged in fruitful activities of setting up
               schools  and  colleges  right  from  the  primary  stage  to  the  professional  colleges.  For  the
               promotion  of  education,  the  Samaj  exclusively  created,  “Shri  Rajasthani  Jain  Samaj
               Educational Trust”.
                     Apart from this a Mahila Mandal and a Youth wing were also formed and they are
               functioning as separate units.
                     Shri Rajasthani Jain Samaj (Mambalam):
                     The  Samaj  is  situated  in  the  heart  of  Chennai  at  T.Nagar  and  has  very  good
               infrastructure  facilities.  It has
                     (a) Munoth Health Centre
                     (b) Shri Shankarlal Jain Hall
                     (c)Dr.C.L. Metha Hall (A/C)
                     (d) Dr.C.L. Metha Dining Hall (A/C)
                     While the GYM is well equipped with all facilities for making oneself fit, the other two
               halls are opened to members to utilize for the congregation and   several purposes, which
               include  meetings,  seminars  etc.  The  Dining  Hall  named    after  late  Dr.  C.L.  Metha  can
               accommodate 500 people and has a modern kitchen.
                     Shri Rajasthani Jain Samaj Educational Trust:
                     The prestigious Shri B.S. Mootha Girls Senior Secondary School affiliated to CBSE was
               started in 1977. Its primary aim is to impart quality education to students from Pre-KG - Std
               XII.
                     The  school  with  a  strength  of  3300  students,  has  well  equipped  laboratories
               experienced and devoted staff and the latest technology enabled learning centres and class
               rooms. The school has been consistently maintaining excellent academic standards, winning
               awards  and  accolades  at  the  National  &  International  levels  in  various    co-curricular
               activities and sports.
                     Shri Rajasthani Jain Samaj Mahila Mandal & Youth Wing:
                     These two units  were created for the benefit of Women Member of Rajasthani Jain
               Samaj as well as Youth of Rajasthani Community. These wings were   meant to promote
               interaction between the respective members to create harmony, achieve unity and welfare.
               These units aid the respective members in the matter of domestic as well as society needs.
               For example, conducting  sports, cultural programmes etc.
