CELEBRATING THE OPENING OF THE ROBERT AND JEANNE SZETO PET-CT CENTRE: A MILESTONE IN HEALTHCARE AT THE SAN
The most significant gift this year enabled the hospital to install a PET/CT scanner which will greatly enhance the early detection of cancer
and brain disease. The extraordinarily generous donation was from the Szeto family who recognised the importance of having this state- of-the-art equipment at the San. Now operational, the scanner is saving patients and staff time, which is minimising health risks for both as well as enhancing the quality of imaging needed to detect anomalies as early as possible. 1911 PET scans (including 609 diagnostic CT scans) have already been conducted since the Szeto PET Centre was opened in November 2023 and thousands more patients will benefit in years to come. We are extremely grateful to the Szeto family for their foresight and dedication to the local community.
