In Drama we develop our students’ communication and performance skills, with each student usually getting to see one theatre production in the year. In Music, the students all experience playing the xylophones and the drums and play very intensive rhythm games as well as sing. We participate in the Music Count Us In initiative joining 600,000 students from across Australia every year to sing the same song at the same time.
For Dance, all students can join our troupe, Eddie’s Entertainers, and can participate in dancing for an audience either at school for SOJAD or at various local high schools and community events. Years 10, 11 and 12 can participate in our annual school concert with Abbotsleigh College. The theme this year was ‘Aussie Greats’ and we saw some fantastic solo and group acts.
It’s been such a fun year, the students have worked so hard and I’m really looking forward to continuing the excitement in next year’s program.
