   Dr Peter Lewis Orthodontist
BDS, MDSc, MRACDS (Orth), FPFA
Peter grew up in Wahroonga and was educated at St
Aloysius’ College. Following his graduation in Dentistry from the University of Sydney in 1980, he gained over a decade of clinical experience working in Australia and overseas. He returned to the University of Sydney to follow his dream and achieve his specialist qualifications in orthodontics, subsequently joining North Shore Orthodontics as a partner in 1997.
He is committed to orthodontic excellence, not only in his practices, but within the profession. He taught in the specialist orthodontic program for over a decade, before accepting a role accrediting university specialist training programs within Australia and New Zealand.
Peter has held many professional positions including President
of the Australian Society of Orthodontists. His teaching interests and expertise lie in
the treatment of difficult and complicated interdisciplinary cases, especially involving adjunctive surgical care.
Dr Sheryn Deane Orthodontist
BDS (Hons), MDSc (Hons), FRACDS
Originally from Melbourne, Sheryn attended Ravenswood School for Girls. She graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery with Honours in
1998 and was awarded the University Medal for her academic achievements.
After practising dentistry in Shepparton, Victoria, she returned to Sydney to work
in private dental practice. She also contributed to the public sector through her work at
the Westmead Centre for
Oral Health and teaching undergraduate dental students, at the same time completing her Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons.
In 2004, Sheryn returned
to University of Sydney and completed a Maser of Dental Science in Orthodontics with Honours. Her special areas of research were root resorption and oral appliance therapy for the management of obstructive sleep apnoea.
Dr Matthew Lewis Orthodontist
BMedSci, BDent (Hons), DClinDent (Orth)
Matthew grew up in Albury
and the North Shore and
was educated at St Aloysius’ College junior school before becoming a boarder at St Ignatius’ College, Riverview. Attending the University of Sydney, he graduated in 2007 with a Bachelor of Medical Science, and a Bachelor of Dentistry in 2011. He went on to complete a Doctor of Clinical Dentistry (Orthodontics) at the University of Western Australia. While in Perth, Matthew was involved in orthodontic research and publications, as well as teaching orthodontics to dental students at the University of Western Australia. On moving back to Sydney, Matthew was welcomed to the NSO team in January 2019. He very much enjoys practicing orthodontics and the positive results it brings to his patients, both clinically and in their appearance and self-esteem. One of Matthew’s special interests is biomechanical force systems to minimise orthodontic treatment times.
