 Principal’s Message
  Dear Students and Families,
2013, like every other year at Eddie's, has been full of things that challenge, that amuse, that annoy and that excite. Every day shapes up in its own unique way.
Certainly we have our routines; the music belts out reliably every 45 minutes, but despite all the planning, no-one really knows what will happen in any day. It seems to me that it is in the unexpected that real learning happens. Those occasions when your best friend walks away from you; when your favourite teacher is away; or when the subject you love is boring or too hard. Those times challenge you to react differently, to change how you think, to relate to different people, to ask for help and to try harder. Those times teach you what it means to be sad, frustrated, even angry - they help you to understand yourself. Once this happens you can choose how you will behave.
This year I have seen our beautiful seniors grow such understanding. Some might call it maturity - others a
miracle, but whatever it is, it will help you move into the next stage of your lives with a sense of hope and courage. We are so proud of our Year 12’s – every one of them has achieved both academic and personal growth. They are ready to walk away –
Eddie’s will remain in their hearts - just as they will remain in ours!
We send them on their way with great pride and love.
Mrs Kathy Freeman Principal
Our 213 ERSES Board under the leadership of Paul Waite. December 2013 saw both Paul Waite and Tony Tenney step down from our Board. Both Paul and Tony contributed to the St. Gabriel’s Board prior to the ERSES Board - Paul over a period of 13 years and Tony for 9 years. This is a remarkable contribution and we are sincerely grateful. Our Board members continue to offer their wisdom and support to all that we do – their generosity is exceptional.
