Canva artwork setup guide
Please read this guide carefully before sending through your files to us.
In order to avoid incurring extra costs for us to fix your artwork files, plus delaying production and delivery, it’s important that they are set up correctly.
Safe area on your artwork is where all of the important information sits, typically 3mm away from the final trim edges. This is to ensure that nothing important, such as text or required parts of any images, are cut off your artwork.
Bleed is typically 3mm of extra background that runs past all edges of your artwork. We cut off this excess print in the finishing part of printing so that colour runs flush to the edges and no white/stock area shows.
Trim is the final finished size of your printed piece once the bleed has been trimmed off.
The example below demonstrates the bleed and trim areas, and crop marks that we use to trim down to the final finished size.
