Our Plans for Refurbishment and
Redevelopment
Prior to the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, considerable work had already commenced on future planning for Hardi's six residential aged care homes.
Suitable land or homes that came up for sale and bordered any of our existing properties were purchased with the intent of future redevelopment. Where this was not possible, consideration was given to refurbishment of homes to improve the surroundings for residents, staff and families.
Progress was impacted as we dealt with managing COVID-19, however the time has come to move forward with these building works. One thing we have learnt from the past couple of years is that we need to reduce the number of beds in some of our rooms, and
provide the ability to close off areas in the event of an outbreak, thereby minimising viral spread.
Where possible, we have also been looking at creating more rooms with ensuites - our focus being on building an environment where quality of life is at the centre of all decision making.
We are in the process of finalising a revised DA application for Seven Hills, that will adjoin and replace the majority of the existing home.
It is planned that this new development will run along Solander Road and will provide grouped, cottage-style accommodation, with street frontage and access to beautiful shared garden spaces. Our hope is to incorporate within the design, elements that meet the recommendations of the Aged Care Royal
Commission, reduce our carb b
that ensures the building fits s
community.
