Team Lanning
The 2024-25 season was a remarkable journey for Team Lanning, blending experienced players with newcomers, each bringing unique strengths and spirit. Despite challenges, the team improved skills and teamwork throughout the year, earning a strong finals appearance. Although the ultimate trophy eluded us, the growth, camaraderie, and sportsmanship displayed were truly commendable.
As a new team with varied experience levels, our biggest challenge was raising the skills of less experienced players while refining those of our veterans. The season began with promising wins and some tough losses, but resilience and focus secured our place in the finals. Every player committed to their best, always showing respect for opponents and officials.
The positive, supportive culture was a highlight—players encouraged each other regardless of the score, demonstrating a strong team bond. While there were disappointments, the overall experience was rewarding. The team’s respectful attitude towards opponents and umpires was exemplary.
Coaching this cricket team for the first time was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. I am grateful for the girls’ understanding and support, which helped me grow alongside them. Thank you all for a memorable season.
