This analysis can be replicated for transfusion of
other blood products, namely, FFP, cryoprecipitate, prothrombinex, platelets and Factor 7. The ANZCPR registry collects data points covering the rates of transfusion and the number of units transfused of each product and at which stage the transfusion was given. This information enables sites to compare transfusion practices, show trends over time and identifies key areas for improvement.
In summary the ANZCPR supports sites to meet Blood Management Standard 7 by:
• Reporting compliance to Blood Management strategies over time and between participating sites including any changes or improvements, and
• Providing a measure of the impact or success in Blood Management outcomes and performance indicators between sites and over time
• Enabling benchmarking with other sites and learning from top performing sites
• Participation in an effective, proven, ongoing continuous improvement system
The aim of participation in the ANZCPR and complying with the blood management standard is to provide highest quality of care for our patients using evidence-based practises and continuous improvement.
