New medical treatment trial introduced at the San!
With the generous support and assistance from the Charles Warman Foundation, Associate Professor Craig Lynch performed the first Pressurised IntraPeritoneal Aerosol Chemotherapy (PIPAC) procedure in April.
This new trial is targeted for patients with gastric or colorectal cancer that has spread to the peritoneal cavity.
The treatment involves a minimally invasive laparoscopy (keyhole surgery) with only a short stay in hospital for each treatment.
