Remembering a true
San Foundation Heart of Gold
A story shared by her children: Liz, Bronwyn, David and Peter
Judy loved the San Hospital. While she was a familiar face in the Emergency Department, her greatest comfort was always being cared for in the Cardiac Ward. Despite living with heart failure, severe osteoporosis and multiple complications, her experiences were consistently positive, defined by compassion, respect and exceptional care.
When weekly diuretic infusions with the Heart Failure Team became necessary, they quickly became the highlight of Mum’s week. We remember how the nursing team felt like an extension of our family, welcoming Mum each visit as though she were coming home.
They cared for her with honesty, dignity and genuine kindness, always respectful and mindful of her changing condition
and individual needs. Their compassion and support brought great comfort not only to Mum, but to all of us.
Mum was a passionate supporter of the San Hospital and a devoted champion of
the Heart Failure Team and San Foundation. She spoke often of the extraordinary care she received and the deep appreciation she felt toward the staff who cared for her.
In gratitude for the care and compassion received, Mum made the meaningful decision to leave a gift in her Will, helping to support the ongoing work of this vital service for future patients and families.
We are deeply grateful for your kindness, Judy. Your gift in your Will will leave a lasting legacy
of care and compassion, and you will be remembered with heartfelt appreciation by all who had the privilege of caring for you.
Leaving a gift in your Will is a powerful way to say thank you for the care you or a loved one has received. A bequest, of any size, helps ensure exceptional care continues for generations to come.
