Wine experiences in the
Hessische Bergstrasse
The Hessiche Bergstrasse region has many features that distinguish it from other German wine regions. The heavily rugged terrain with mountain slopes that are very steep in places often permits viticulture only on small plots, with many of them having to be cultivated by hand. Nevertheless, the Bergstrasse winemakers have successfully resisted “land consolidation”, and thus largely preserved the originality of their landscape. This is appreciated by wine pilgrims and hikers, who attend the events in droves – be it for the almond blossom, when the Bergstrasse is dipped in soft pink, or for the wine festivals or wine tours.
