                       ‘The’ is called a definite article. Definite means specific. Use ‘the’ when you are talking
               about something which is already known to the listener or which has been previously mentioned,

               introduced, or discussed. You can use 'the' with both singular nouns and plural nouns.


               Example:

               1) I have a cat. The cat is black.
               2) There is a book in my backpack. The book is very heavy.

               3) Do you own a bicycle? Is the bicycle blue?

                We can explain the object around use demonstrative pronouns and preposition of place.



               1. Demonstrative Pronouns
               a. This

                     ‘This’ refers to a single object which is located close to the speaker or can be touched by the
               speaker.

               Example:
                1) This is a ruler.

               2) This is my mother.


               b. That

                  ‘That’ refers to a single object which is located far from the speaker.
                Example:

               1) That is your bicycle.

               2) That is his bag.
