The World's Best Jumpers
Kangaroos are the best jumpers in
the world. The red kangaroo can jump as
far as 25 feet (8 m) and 6 feet (1.8 m)
high. They use their hind legs to jump and
their tails for balance. They're good at
jumping and swimming, but they can't walk
backwards.
Most kangaroos live in Australia. They like
to eat grass and plants. They can live
without water for months. Mother kangaroos
keep their babies in their pouches. The babies
stay there for about 13 months. Father
kangaroos don't have pouches.
