Senior Section Championship Comes Home to Las Vegas
iena Golf Club teaching professional Kim Dolan won the 2021 Southwest PGA
Senior Professional Championship played at Paradise Valley Country Club in
S Phoenix, and nobody was more surprised than him. He finished at 2-under par,
one shot in front of Jon Stanley and Paul Trittler.
“With the caliber of player we have in our section, I never thought I was going to win,”
said Dolan, a member of the Las Vegas Golf Hall of Fame. “My main focus was to play a
good round and try to get into the top six, which qualifies me for the national club pro-
fessional championship. The golf course was spectacular and everybody had problems
with the greens because they were quite fast with lots of break. I have played many
rounds of golf, but I’ve never hit the ball like I did the last round of this tournament. I
never hit a bad shot and shot 67 with 32 putts. I hit 16 greens in regulation, three par
fives in two, and the two greens I missed, I was no more than a couple feet off the edge.”
Anthem’s Troy Helseth was the first-round leader, but faded to a tie for 11th. Jason
Edmiston, a PGA - Life Member, who teaches out of Las Vegas Country Club, finished
tied for 8th. Wes Weston, also a PGA - Life Member, finished tied for 11th. In all, 9
Chapter members competed in the 49-player field.
