have no idea how long it will take things to get back to some version
of normal.
I have no doubt that even if there is a new kind of normal, these public
spaces that are vital to our well being will continue to exist. While
we are uniquely positioned at this time in human history to be more
connected by technology than ever before, it is also a reminder that
we need actual human to human contact to operate. We cannot indefi-
nitely be on screens with each other.
In short: we need bars and restaurants. This means we need to support
them in any way we can between now and when we will need them
again as the spaces they are designed to be. In the future, a space to
effectively separate from normal home and work life will still be no
less important than it was three weeks ago. 1760
