1997 and just minutes from the Las Vegas
Strip in the foothills of the Black Mountain
Range, the Rees Jones-designed layout
quickly earned acclaim as a player’s course
routed through steep canyons, desert washes
and high plateaus overlooking Las Vegas.
In 2017 Rees Jones, also known as the
U.S. Open Doctor for his enhancements
to U.S. Open venues, returned to refine his
original creation to enhance playability
for leisure golfers, while improving the
legendary test celebrated for two decades by
low handicappers worldwide. Speaking of
handicaps, Golf Digest’s #1 instructor, Butch
Harmon, teaches everyone from tour pros
to amateurs at the Butch Harmon School of
Golf, located at Rio Secco.
