When asked about the best part of his job he jokes, the best part
of success is not having to shoot anything he doesn’t want. His
passion for the work drives him to give back. Chris has taken
countless trips to third world countries like Burma (where
he brought a hand-held printer and gave people the first por-
traits they had ever seen of themselves.) He has accompanied
local Dr. Matt Oliva on trips to Ethiopia with the Himalayan
Cataract Project, documenting the first moments people regain
their sight after cataract surgery. With his lens he is capturing
amazing, meaningful human stories, magnifying “the universal
human experience. The commonality that we are all somehow
connected.”
As a pro he’s often asked for tips, now that everyone is a pho-
tographer. His advice is, “Get those photos off of your phone!
Print them and display them before they get lost and forgotten.”
