Black Butte Ranch

ituated at the foot of the majestic, snow-capped peaks
of the Cascade Range in the heart of Central Oregon
Sis Black Butte Ranch, one of the state’s most highly
regarded golf and recreational resorts. Black Butte Ranch’s
service, attention to detail, and pristine outdoor location make
it an unmatched destination experience for both golfers and
non-golfers alike.
Black Butte Ranch features two scenic and challenging
championship golf courses that deliver an authentic Oregon
golf experience. With sculpted fairways intertwined
with Aspen groves and Ponderosa Pine trees that frame
breathtaking views of the Cascade Mountains, Black Butte
Ranch offers the best of what makes Central Oregon a premier
golf destination.
Big Meadow, a 7,002-yard course designed by Robert Muir
Graves in 1970 and renovated in 2008 by Damian Pascuzzo,
presents generous fairways, accessible greens, and panoramic
views of neighboring Mount Washington, Three Sisters, and
Broken Top. Every component of the course is integrated
into the spectacular mountain setting. One of the most
photographed holes in the state is the 401-yard par 4, 14th.
From its elevated tee, players can experience a dramatic view
of Three Fingered Jack, an iconic peak of the Mount Jefferson
Wilderness.
Glaze Meadow offers a test that will appeal to fans of both
classic and modern golf design, with five sets of tees on every
hole to accommodate players of all skill levels. Originally
opened in 1978, the course went through a dramatic overhaul
in 2010 and 2011 at the direction of designer (and Oregon
native) John Fought. The plan called for removing dense
forest overgrowth, re-routing holes, and installing state of
the art irrigation. Following the $3.75 million project, Glaze
Meadow turned into a 7,007-yard classically inspired gem
and was recognized by Golf Inc. Magazine as the 2012
“Renovation of the Year.”
Year-round recreational pursuits complement the golf
experience at Black Butte Ranch. Guests can settle in to one
of over 120 vacation homes situated throughout the Ranch’s
unspoiled harmonious setting and enjoy an array of outdoor
activities including biking, swimming, canoeing, tennis,
horseback riding, paddle boarding, fly-fishing and more.
The full service spa is a great place for guests to relax and
rejuvenate, and the recently renovated Lodge Restaurant
and Aspen Lounge are centrally located in the heart of the
1800-acre resort, serving a year-round menu rich in regional
Northwest cuisine.
The Lakeside complex situated in the heart of the Ranch
features an expansive pool, outdoor hot tub, sauna, fitness
facility, recreation center, playground, retail shop and Bistro
with indoor and outdoor dining. This addition only enhances
the resort’s reputation as one of the most family-friendly golf
destinations anywhere. Whether traveling as a family, with
friends, or for a couples golf getaway, there can be no more
authentic Central Oregon experience than Black Butte Ranch.
