        CRATER LAKE & BEYOND:

THE LAND OF FIRE & ICE

This stunning book presents a vibrant portrait of Oregon’s only
national park and the picturesque landscapes that surround
it. The text was penned by historian Jim Turner, who worked
closely with Ashland photographers Jay and Sue Newman. The
Newmans have been capturing the landscapes and wildlife of
our region for more than ten years. Together, the eye-popping
photos and jaunty prose make for a thoroughly enjoyable tome
that’s equal parts coffee table book, tour book, and history
book. It’s beautiful to look at and fun to read.

You’ll circumnavigate Rim Drive, summit Wizard Island, and
visit the waterfalls and canyons on the park’s outskirts. The “&
Beyond” section delves into the natural and cultural history
of the Upper Rogue, the North Umpqua, Klamath National
Wildlife Refuge, Lava Beds, Newberry Crater, Mt. Lassen, Mt.
        Shasta, Ashland, and Oregon Caves.
Crater Lake & Beyond is available at Amazon.com, Barnes
& Noble, Bloomsbury Books in Ashland, and signed copies
are available in the NewmanImages Photography booth at the
Ashland Artisan Emporium. Published by Rio Nuevo Publishers.
