I want to be there for them, because when I was younger and going
through everything, there weren’t many people going through it. I
had to make myself my hero. My hero was myself in ten years.”
That was a big goal for a girl of eleven, but Amy has already achieved YOUR FOUNDATION
that goal. A year ago, she signed a development deal with iconic music
producer Kent Wells. At his invitation Amy recently performed with FOR BUSINESS!
Dolly Parton to help celebrate Kent’s life through music.
When asked about being with Parton, Amy says, “I could talk days on
out. It was the best experience of my life. Kent was getting honored in
his own town, and we were throwing him a concert in return. Dolly
was the sweetest person, so down to earth. She loves doing what she Catalyst, Convener, Champion!
has done forever. She is literally the queen of country music.”
FIERCE FUTURE: Because A Great Needs Great
Amy is now nearly ready to make a new ten-year goal, and she’s very Community Businesses!
happy to have discovered that it’s all about going in the right direction
with as much fierceness as possible. “I’m always shocked that a person
like me who went through so much heartache can pull it off. Anyone
in this world can do whatever they want. I hope my story inspires
someone. I was not even a popular person. I had a dream and a pas-
sion and knew this is what I wanted to do, and I worked every day. It’s
an amazing thing to be able to change the world for the better and be
fierce, and do what I love and make an impact.”
Southern Oregon is very proud of Amy and we are looking forward
to her first album, which is due to be out in the near future.
