TOREE:No humidity and no bugs!
No mosquitoes! In the Midwest you can
          track them on radar.

Q: YOU LIVE ON THE APPLEGATE
          RIVER IN THIS GORGEOUS SETTING.
WHY IS THIS A GOOD HOME BASE
          FROM WHICH YOU CAN TRAVEL
          AND SERVE THE WORLD?

KURT: Living here gives us a per-
spective on the rest of our life. Having a
separation between our professional life in
Medford and coming home to a completely
different environment is relaxing and thera-
peutic. That’s healthy for us. It has given us a
realization that our life isn’t just defined by
          what we do from 8-to-5.

TOREE: Still, to this day, driving
home from Medford is like driving through
a national park. We love it. And flying back
to Southern Oregon after a month-long trip
is the best feeling. We’re home!

vide eye care for people in developing
          countries. In collaboration with Rotary,
          AmigoVision has provided free eye
          examinations, medical eye treatment and
glasses for more than 35,000 patients in
          10 countries since 2000.

Toree has been President of Jacksonville’s
Wine Festival, Bear Creek Valley Rotary
and Treasurer of Rogue Powerpack. She
loves working in the yard, decorating,
rafting, hiking and skiing. Kurt’s hobbies
include skiing, white water rafting, wind
surfing and mountain climbing. They enjoy
spending time with their daughters, Brienz
          and Cedar.
