What a Christian Believes

These benefits cannot be lost and will not be taken from men
who have turned to Christ. But a wise christian recognises
that the constant reminding of them on a daily basis is
essential to not slipping back into old ways and habits.
Lamentations 3 v22, 23 'Because of the Lord's great love
we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail,
they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.'

Just as with Salvation, the REDEEMING PROCESS deals
with the past, is with the christian in the present and has a
future application. In other words it covers all phases of a
                man's life.

The response of a man or woman is 1 Corinthians 6 v19,20
'...you are not your own, you were bought with a price,
therefore honour God with your body.'

The ransom price of Redemption was in the form of a
punishment. The word that suggested a court of law
decision, in which the man was set free, recognised that
Christ had already paid the ransom and that it was in the form
                of a punishment.

The Bible, when speaking of Jesus in this context, explains
how the Redemption was made. Revelation 5 v9 'You are
worthy.... because you were slain, and with your blood
you purchased men for God, from every tribe and
                language and people and nation.'

When the Bible speaks of BLOOD in this way it is refering to
THE LIFE in a person or an animal. So blood being shed
means the life going out and death.

Before Christ's life on earth, men sacrificed animals, to turn
God's anger from them. To modern man this sometimes
seems a barbaric way for God to forgive sins. This is because
