easy walking distance to Lincoln Park, our world class Lincoln Park Zoo, the Farm in the Zoo, the
Rowing Club, the North and South Ponds, the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum and the sailing and
yachting harbors. Simply walk around the corner from your home to wonderful Oz Park, with its
tennis courts, playground, botanical garden, running paths, baseball diamonds and basketball court.
Enjoy Family Movie Nights in the summer and cross-country skiing in the winter. Visit the exciting
shops and boutiques and the Summer Farmer’s Market along Armitage, our “Main Street”. Dining
options range from casual neighborhood cafes and restaurants to famed 5-star Alinea. You are also just
a short distance to Chicago’s famed Magnificent Mile with its world famous shops and designer
boutiques. You have quick access to the financial district via nearby public transportation or taxi,
without that long commute to the suburbs. Excellent public and private schools nearby.
2039 North Mohawk Street is not just a home but a marvelous lifestyle!
THE VISION…
The Owners of 2039 North Mohawk found this block of Mohawk to be the absolute ideal location on
which to raise their family. Not only was location important to them, but they desired light, tall
ceilings and knew that they did not want the “cookie cutter” floor plan they had seen so often, but
rather a home full of sunshine with plenty of space in which to entertain family and friends and to raise
their children.
They entered in to a collaboration with popular Paul Florian and Steve Wierzbowski of Florian
Wierzbowski and John Nelson formerly of Environ, Inc. They loved the stately limestone exterior, the
first level entrance, which allows guests to “decompress”, hang coats and use the Powder Room before
entering the Living Room. They loved the rear entrance from the Garage with the “must have” Mud
Room to store coats, jackets, boots, hockey sticks and everything in between! They wanted children’s
bedrooms with plenty of light, space and a place to do homework. They love to cook and entertain and
desired a large Kitchen, Family Room and a Casual Dining Space in addition to their beautiful formal
Dining Room. The design plan fulfilled everything on their wish list and the dream became a reality in
1990.
THE RESIDENCE…
The stately limestone Exterior of the residence, with its granite front steps, reflects timeless elegance
and symmetrical proportions, which give the home a commanding presence on the block. The
beautiful windows and the balcony, which spans the width of the second level, add to the magnificent
presence.
Greet your guests on the Main Level Front Entry with a Reception Hall and large closet enabling
guests to enter the Living Room unencumbered! There is a handsome Study just off of the Reception
Hall, a perfect place for books with its beautiful built-ins or could easily be an In-home Office.
