Janet Owen Is Frequently Quoted in

Various Popular and Highly Regarded Publications

From “The Holdouts” by Juliet Chung on October 1, 2010

"We've never been in a more price-sensitive market," says Janet Owen of Sudler Sotheby's International Realty,
who recently got the listing for the Chicago mansion of J.P. Morgan's Jamie Dimon. Originally listed for $13.5 mil-
lion in 2007, the home as of August was listed at $6.95 million. It went into contract in late September. "The smart
sellers respond to the market," Ms. Owen says.

From “What's Driving the Sale of Downtown Luxury Condos?” by Dennis Rodkin in July 2010 Issue
Janet Owen, a Sudler Sotheby’s International agent who works exclusively in the luxury market, points out that
many wealthy people have not had to worry about the tight mortgage-financing climate that has contributed to the
drag on the larger real-estate market. Mortgage lenders have been requiring bigger down payments, higher credit
scores, and more detailed documentation of financial histories from average buyers. “These aren’t issues
[wealthy potential homeowners] have to think about,” says Owen. On top of this, she notes, “their buying had
nothing to do with the $8,000 federal tax credit.”

From “Dick Phelan Pulls Up Stakes in Chicago” by Dennis Rodkin on July 12, 2010
It has three bedrooms, each with its own bath, and a lavish kitchen (the prior owner was a chef, says Janet Ow-
en, the selling agent; property records do not reveal the chef’s name). The Phelans redecorated the condo “to
make it very easy on the eyes,” Owen says. “When you walked in, you immediately dialed down a little bit be-
cause it felt very calm, serene.”

The condo went under contract a few days after the price cut. “The buyer thought it was priced right,” Owen says.
       “It works every time.”

From “Finding LeBron a home. Chicago: The Gold Coast” by Les Christie on July 8, 2010
Advice for James on where to settle in Chicago would be easy to come by, according to Janet Owen, an agent
with Sudler Sotheby's International Realty. "Ask anybody in Chicago where the best place to live is, and they'll tell
you it's their neighborhood -- and they'll tell you why," she said. Owen has a listing in mind. It's an eight-bed town-
house on the Gold Coast, north of downtown. The cost: $9.5 million. She said he'd love the neighborhood be-
cause of its location alongside Lake Michigan, its beautiful, tree-lined streets, Lincoln Park and its proximity to
restaurants and downtown. It's good enough for the mother of the foremost basketball icon: Michael Jordan's
mom lives right on Lake Shore Drive.
