Nine Ninety Nine remains today a home to many high profile and prominent Chicagoans desiring a low key
lifestyle within an elegant, intimate, secure, service oriented building to which they can retreat, relax and
entertain family and friends while maintaining their privacy. The building spearheads East Lake Shore
Drive and its position enables incomparable views from every apartment. The old saying, “land is precious
because they are not making any more of it” rings true along East Lake Shore Drive, with its premier
location and glorious views of Lake Michigan.

THE PORTE COCHERE AND LOBBY…

Motoring was one of architect Benjamin Marshall’s passions and he conceived a beautiful covered
driveway at the bend of the building at the main entrance and ensconsed it in limestone trim. Even today,
any competent driver can navigate the porte cochere easily. It allows access to the Lobby in the most
inclement weather without a care.

The service oriented uniformed staff greets you in the well appointed Lobby and announces your guests.
They are ready to assist with luggage, packages and groceries. The Lobby is spacious and tastefully
furnished. There are additional entrances on the north side and the south side of the building.

THE RESIDENCE…

Sophisticated and stylish, this residence combines classic beauty, timeless elegance with completely up-to-
date functionality. It is tasteful and refined and is close to perfection in every detail. The residence is light
filled with a gracious and liveable floor plan. The interiors were designed by McNutt & Dennen.

THE RECEPTION HALL AND GALLERY…

The elegant passenger elevator takes you to your floor, which is shared by only one other residence. Upon
entering the Foyer, there is a spacious Guest Closet and beautiful solid walnut floors. There is a nearby
well appointed Powder Room. As you enter the Reception Hall, which symmetrically separates the
Living Room and the Formal Dining Room, the views north to the lake and south to the city are
breathtaking. The gracious formal rooms feature architecturally significant original restored 10’ plaster
ceilings.

THE LIVING ROOM…

You will be simply delighted as you enter the exquisite wide open Living Room and enjoy the breathtaking
views of Lake Michigan from the three oversized bow windows. The walls are Honduran mahogany
lightened to a golden honey hue. Enjoy the open and inviting feeling of this simply wonderful room with
more than enough space for several seating arrangements and a grand piano.

There is a lovely Book Alcove, just off of the Living Room.
