Spirituality is another way of saying that your Spirit is free of the control of
your ego. Unfortunately this awareness is difficult to achieve while still
embodied. Your ego is controlled by what are considered to be social norms.
Your social system is largely based on the foundation laid down by the Roman
Empire. It is a system intrinsically linked into the religion of christianity and
almost inseparable from what is truly natural. The Roman system was
constantly feeding the empire through the empire, to make the system work for
the benefit of the empire. In order to give the empire a face they had to have a
human as a leader. This leader had no power of their own, they only had the
power that was given to them, This conferring of power did not come without
conditions and was dependant on the senate for instructions as to how it could
be used. We are aware that the system was far more complex than we are
stating, however this exercise does not require that detail. Suffice to say this
system persists to this day in what is called Western Society. Take the example
of a large company who’s founder is no longer in that world, the founder’s
place has been taken by a piece of paper, a document, and this is now what
controls the company. In a Christian sense this document is the Bible. How
authentic is this document? Not very much, and yet so many are controlled by
it. It’s influence on the legal systems of the Western World has been used, as
in its past, to instigate laws that are imposed of the individual thus enslaving
them. There is no freedom in the Western System, there is no freedom in any
religion. How can one be free and yet have to conform to rules and regulations
that have no direct bearing on their day to day existence? You wake everyday
to what you have to do in that day. How much of this ‘have to do’ is your
doing for you? You have to get up for work, you have to have a substantial
breakfast so you have the energy to work. After work you have to go home,
you have to have your evening meal to restore expended energy. You have to
sleep to restore your body to be fit to work, and so the pattern goes on and on.
So many have to’s, and all for somebody else, possibly even for a piece of
