female personas though we refer to the image of Adam and
Eve. This story is popular and popularly seen as it is and not
as what it illustrates. There are no other species that this refers
to, only the human being. There is seldom any of the conflict
between the genders of other species as there is in the human.
This is what makes the human different from other animals.
There is the other complication that the human has lost sight
of its purpose in that world. It sees progress as material
progress and not spiritual progress. It sees power as material
power, not spiritual power. The Adam and Eve story is to
show the starting point of human discontent and dysfunction,
the “fall of the Angels”, the conflict of difference. You can
see this in your world when you look at human relations, how
some last a lifetime and some are come crashing down.
That is far removed from anybody’s idea of Paradise. You
may ask how things can change. The first goal must be to
achieve self-honesty. Examine how you feel about what has
been just written. If you see yourself primarily as male or
female you will no doubt go into a defence mode. If however,
you see yourself from a spiritual perspective you will have no
apparent response but will ponder these words. If you look at
it from the point of view of the humankind of this time you
will look to see who the perpetrator was and who the victim
was and maybe even blame the poor snake for causing it.
Now, look at it removing the ‘luxury’ of deflecting any
responsibility away from you, your gender, your education or
even your beliefs. Take on the role of Adam. Take on the
responsibility of his decision. How does that feel to you? You
have the fortunate use of hindsight to adjust your thinking.
You need to realise that you unknowingly face his dilemma
