     Gifted Education
Gifted education is provided for all students, K-12, who have the potential for exceptional
academic achievement. To be eligible for gifted education services, a student must meet specific
criteria established by the State Board of Education. Please see your child’s teacher if you think
your child may qualify for this program.
                                                  Homebound Services
In cases of prolonged absences (10 or more consecutive days) due to illness or injury, the
parent or guardian should seek assistance from the counselor for homebound instruction. The
school will provide the parent with a Hospital/Homebound Referral Form to be completed and
signed by a physician indicating that the student is unable to attend school. The form is
returned to the school and then submitted to Student Services or the parent/guardian may
bring the completed form to the Muscogee County Public Education Center.
