How Bob Sharp doubled his revenue while decreasing costs
Bob Sharp was incredibly excited about his new product idea. As CEO of Keyport Life Insurance Co., the business wasn’t doing too badly... but this new opportunity could catapult them into the lead over all their competition. This was a special opportunity to tap into an urgent need in his market with a cutting- edge product having massive appeal.
But there was a monster-sized roadblock... Software support. Life insurance is an information intensive business. The products are all financial, requiring the tracking of financial information in many ways... and Bob’s product was more complex than most.
His current Package software, used for back office processing, was hopeless to manage it. He could potentially modify it... but that would take years and cost millions. And there was no other software package available to support this product. The only option was to create new software and create it quickly!
