CS105 An interesting sundial used 22
in the 18th and 19th C. Me-
chanical pocket watches were
expensive. In sunny daylight
a sundial with compass was
used to set the time for the
pocket watch. Pocket watches
needed correction all the time,
the sun is always right. It also
served to show time of Mass.
