The doctor was called to treat an aristo- crat. “Well sir, what’s the matter,” he asked.
“That sir is what I want to find out,” snorted the aristocrat.
“If you’ll wait I’ll get you a veterinarian,” said the doctor, “he’s the only type of doctor that can diagnose a case without asking questions.”

At the start of my senior year the County
took the high school over from the state and Dad ran for Superintendent of Marion County. At each polling place there was a representative of every candidate to make sure the votes were counted fairly, that dead people didn’t vote, or that no one voted twice. Dad won big in the first and second elections. In the third he, a World War I veteran, was beaten by a World War II veteran. By then he was about 68 and decided to start teaching chemistry and physics in the same high school that he once ruled. He had no ill feelings that I know of. He was an amazing guy.
