Before Bliss left for Chapel Hill he’d
kid me for hanging around Mary so often. One day he said: “You drool so much and stick so closely to that lady that from here on out I’m going to call you Sorghum.” The name stuck. Bliss dated lots of women but scared them off because he was too pressing.
