o Do not fill vehicle
o Decommission tank if data plate cannot be cleaned or a new one cannot be obtained
from manufacturer

Propane ASME Tank – Rust or Corrosion

• Propane tanks with rust or corrosion may be cleaned if recommended by
manufacturer
• If rust or corrosion seems excessive the tank should be de-commissioned and
inspected by an ASME-certified repair facility to ensure the tank can still be in service Lesson 3.3
