Projects Make Us Happy
There is something incredibly satisfying about completing a project, whether it's assembling furniture from IKEA or installing an app to control your home-heating system from your phone, or making a record album of your own material. Some projects are so powerful they allow us to achieve things and feel feelings we never thought possible. A study called !Personal Projects and Happiness” published in the Journal of Occupational Science found that people who were given projects to complete were up to six times happier than those who were not.
Side Projects
Side projects are another way to do your thing. Do you have a side project? Is it something you love? Are you always working on it, even when you don't have to? If the answer is yes, then you might be able to turn it into a dream fresh start. Side projects feed off our Primal Powers; they are the essence of creative growth. Blogs and podcasts are side projects with potential, as are designing, making or sourcing stuff and selling it on Amazon or Shopify. Apple, Facebook, Craigslist, Groupon, Twitter and Google all started out as side projects.
