The Wednesday Winers group,
shown here on September 29th at the
Roseville Veterans Park, purchased a
brick with the name of Henry (Hank)
Starr, JAG. It commemorated the ser-
vice and commitment Hank made to
our country in the military and a JAG
lawyer. His wife, Ginny, and family
are quite proud of him and of his ser-
vice to our country, as we all should
be.
Bev Mumm, of Lixton Ct, was recently honored by her
P.E.O. Chapter as she celebrated 50 years as a member of
the P.E.O. Sisterhood. The event was attended by a great
many P.E.O. Sisters who are residents at The Club, and
hosted by Yvonne Vanoni.
Tom and Nancy Stevens visited Mary Hamersen, former Club
st
Resident, as she celebrated her 81 Birthday. Mary lives in St.
nd
Paul’s Tower in Oakland. Her room on the 22 floor offers a
view of the San Francisco skyline, but she claims she would
rather look out at her little backyard on Xavier Lane. Other
than her son, we are her first visitors since the pandemic.
Loneliness is difficult, but she is not one to complain. We
worked-up a little party of our own, bringing gifts and greet-
ings from other club residents. Mary often says that living in
The Club was easily the happiest seven years of her life. Alt-
hough she continues to struggle physically, she reminds us,
and everyone else, that she still has all her marbles.
