Nonfiction at The Retreat Library.
You know how you want to read a popular title and have to wait? Then you forget you wanted to read that specific title? The answer to this
scenario is to use your neighborhood Retreat Library. Nonfiction, memoirs and biographies are rarely checked out from our neighborhood li-
brary. The shelves to the right of the storage closet in the Retreat Library contain these gems that have fallen off your “to be read” radar. I love
nonfiction that reads like fiction. Look for Wild by Cheryl Strayed, Hidden Figures by Margot Lee Shetterly and The Last City of Oz by David
Grann and check them out today. Having to search brings you to a rewarding read.
Some important Active Adult programs will be kicking off in August featuring partnerships with Ro-
seville Police Department and our Local Author Series. Check for updates on the RPL website or stop
by the Riley Library. With Costco reducing their book sales to the holiday season, now is the time to
get a RPL card. The price is right = free, only a photo ID required and some say it is the best card to
have in town.
What’s on my nightstand?
Everyone Here is Lying by Shari Lapena – a suspense thriller. You won’t believe who did it!
Also I’ve been catching up on some youth titles for school-age customers. Should you need recom-
mendations, reach out to me for more.
