Herb decided to try his hand at making sourdough bread last January. He really
began his interest in cooking and baking after he retired in 2007 from his 25 years
with the FAA as an air traffic controller. After researching the internet he came up
with a sourdough starter. Our starter is now over a year old, and is treated like an-
other member of the family! Who knew that just a few months after he created his
starter we would be caught in a seemingly endless pandemic for a year! And no
flour and yeast to be found! So time at home has kept Herb busy perfecting his
craft! Herb truly enjoys the art of bread making and has tried making many varie-
ties of sourdough breads and others. He enjoys sharing his bread with neighbors
and friends and also enjoys swapping his creations with the delicious smoked
barbeque meats and yummy desserts that our friends and neighbors create as well.
