Since The Retreat closed for lockdown, the volunteer Library staff has lost two of its volunteers. So
we are looking for residents that would like to help us keep our Library organized.

It doesn’t involve a lot of work. We mostly handle it when we are at The Club for some other reason
and we just come early or stay a little later. Once per month we all get together to pull worn or un-
read books off the shelves so we have more room for donations. We do not check books in and out,
so our hours can be completely flexible.

What do volunteers do?
♦ We sort through the returned books to separate returned books from newly donated books.
♦ If a returned book is in good condition, we shelve it in the fiction or the non-fiction area.
♦ If the book has been newly donated we label and date it and then shelve it.
Once per month we meet as a group to thin out the shelved books that look worn or have not been
checked out.
