Vanellus Indicus
RED- WATTLED LAPWING
The bird is slightly smaller than the Northern
Lapwing. It again features the black and white
plumage except for the pale brown upper parts,
yellowish legs, and a red bill and eye ring. It
inhabits mainly open areas close to fresh and
brackish waters, but can also be found in fields,
large gardens and mown grassy stretches along
roads. Its habitat includes the Near and Middle
East, and southern and south-eastern Asia.

NORTHERN PINTAIL
The Northern Pintail is more slender
than the Mallard and has a considerably
longer neck which is frequently
stretched. The male’s breeding plumage
is strikingly elegant. The dark brown
head contrasts with the clear white neck
and the narrow white streak that runs up
its sides. Fairly elongated tail feathers
form a pointed tail. An extensive
breeding region includes a sizable part
of Eurasia and North America. Most
populations are migratory.
